RFID Technology & Applications

Overview

RFID or Radio Frequency Identifications consists of mainly a RFID tag or chip, readers and antenna to interface with the chip and software database system for data analysis.

Every RFID tag is uniquely identified and it can be battery operated or without battery. It uses radio wave to self-generated operating power to activate its internal circuitry. Information is transferred through the same radio wave to RFID readers and ultimately to the software database systems on a computer or server.

RFID technology can be applied to many areas, namely asset management tracking, logistics, product identifications and tracking, personnel tracking, access control, document management and many others. This technology is also used in quality control process, product authentication and even operation productivity.
